As one of the eight publicly funded universities in Hong Kong, The Education University of Hong Kong (EdUHK) is a higher education institution dedicated to the advancement of teaching and learning through diverse academic and research programmes on teacher education and complementary disciplines, including social sciences, humanities, creative arts and culture, etc. We nurture educators and social leaders who are intellectually active, socially caring, and globally aware to become agents of change in the communities they serve. We place great emphasis on research capability with the aim of contributing to the advancement of knowledge, scholarship and innovation. EdUHK is committed to creating a sustainable impact on social progress and human betterment and defining the education landscape for not only Hong Kong, but also the Asia Pacific region. To date, EdUHK and its predecessor HKIEd have nurtured more than 110,000 graduates.
EdUHK encompasses one Graduate School and three Faculties, including Faculty of Education and Human Development, Faculty of Humanities, and Faculty of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences. Besides, it has three University-level and eleven Faculty-level research centres, covering the fields of education, social sciences and humanities, to promote innovative research and knowledge transfer.
Currently, EdUHK has more than 400 teaching staff, offering a range of programmes at the doctoral, master’s and bachelor’s levels, as well as postgraduate diploma in education programmes to more than 7,000 students. In addition, it has also actively established a huge collaboration network with government departments, NGOs and universities around the world. At present, it has established close partnerships with more than 200 universities and institutions, covering more than 30 countries and regions in America, Europe, Asia, Australia and Greater China.
In terms of academic programmes, EdUHK undertakes educational programmes in different areas and offers multidisciplinary programmes in humanities and social sciences, covering psychology, language studies, creative arts and culture, and special education. Moreover, EdUHK also launches co-terminal double degree programmes, allowing students to have more choices in subjects and creating greater opportunities for their future.
EdUHK has always been committed to promoting the internationalisation on campus. In addition to the “Entrance Scholarship for Non-local Students”, it also provides students with a variety of learning opportunities, including overseas exchange programmes, language immersion programmes, and service learning and internship. Through participating in different activities, students can give full play to their personal strengths and gain more experience beyond textbooks, thereby broadening their horizons and laying a solid foundation for future development.

|The University offers entrance scholarships to attract aspiring, committed, high-quality students with outstanding academic and non-academic achievements to join our undergraduate programmes and to encourage and support outstanding new entrants to develop their academic and non-academic talents to their full potential. These scholarships are primarily based on academic ability, personal qualities, interview performance and non-academic achievements.
Full Scholarship: HK$185,000 p.a. (renewable)
Tuition Scholarship: HK$140,000 p.a. (renewable)
Half-tuition Scholarship: HK$70,000 p.a. (renewable)
Applicants admitted to a full-time undergraduate programme will automatically be considered for entrance scholarships. There is no need for you to submit a separate application for the scholarship.
